CHERY GROUP expresses great concerns for everyone in Thailand affected by the flood across many parts of the country. The company announces urgent relief measures for customers and its dealer network across all of its brands: OMODA & JAECOO, CHERY, iCAUR, and LEPAS. Customers whose vehicles were affected will get after-sales service support and assistance with buying a new vehicle. Dealers will get support with moving vehicles and with finances.
Relief Measures for Customers
Customers whose vehicles were affected by the floods can get a free flood safety inspection, covering an initial diagnostic scan, a battery health check and a brake safety check. Owners of severely damaged vehicles will get priority service appointments. CHERY GROP will also arrange roadside assistance, provide an inspection report to support insurance claims, and work with insurers to make the claims process easier. Customers will also receive a 30% discount on parts and labor. (For vehicles not covered by an insurance policy) The campaign is eligible from 29 September 2026 to 31 December 2026.
Customers whose vehicles can no longer be used and who want to purchase a new one may be offered special assistance, which the company will consider case by case, to help reduce their costs.
Relief Measures for Dealers
Dealers are key business partners who grow with CHERY GROUP and deliver a good experience to customers. The company will provide trailer trucks to move stock vehicles out of affected dealerships. It will also consider financial relief measures, such as extended payment terms and additional cost support for dealers who suffered severe flood damage.
Guidance for Electric Vehicle Owners During Floods
If an electric vehicle is caught in a flood or has been under water for a long time, owners must follow these guidelines strictly to prevent further risk to life and property:
- Do not touch the vehicle under any circumstances if the water is still at or above the underbody. Do not open the doors, start the vehicle or press any electrical buttons.
- Do not unplug the charging cable yourself. If the vehicle was charging in a flooded area, immediately switch off the charger and the circuit breaker that supplies it.
- Never attempt to start the vehicle, and keep the key away from it. Doing so risks serious damage to the high-voltage battery and electrical systems. The vehicle should be inspected by a qualified technician only.
- If the vehicle must be moved, use a flatbed tow truck only. Do not tow it with its wheels on the ground, as this may cause further serious damage to its systems.
- Customers who wish to file an insurance claim should photograph the damage to their vehicle as evidence, prepare the relevant documents, and contact their insurer as soon as possible so the claim can be processed quickly.
