Royal Norwegian Embassy and Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce Strengthen Norway–Thailand Food Supplement Partnerships at Vitafoods Asia 2026

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok and the Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce (TNCC) strengthened commercial cooperation between Norwegian exporters and Thailand’s growing food supplement industry through Norway’s participation at Vitafoods Asia 2026, held from 2–4 September at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC).

Under the theme “Bridging Norwegian and Thai Food Supplement Communities”, the programme connected Norwegian food supplement and marine ingredient specialists with Thai importers, distributors, manufacturers, healthcare professionals and other industry stakeholders, creating opportunities for trade, investment, knowledge exchange and long-term partnerships.

Thailand’s dietary supplements market was valued at approximately 91 billion Baht in 2025 and is projected to reach 189 billion Baht by 2033, representing a 9.6% Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) from 2026 to 2033, highlighting the sector’s strong growth potential, according to the Grand View Research, Thailand Dietary Supplements Market (2026–2033) Size, Share & Trends Analysis Report. The market is being driven by rising health consciousness and a shift from curative to preventive healthcare, with consumers increasingly incorporating dietary supplements into their daily lifestyles.

Jostein Aksnes, Vice President of Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce , said: “Norway and Thailand have complementary strengths across the food supplement value chain, from Norway’s expertise in marine resources, scientific research and responsible production to Thailand’s manufacturing, distribution and market capabilities. Building on our longstanding bilateral relationship and the Thailand–EFTA Free Trade Agreement, we see significant potential to deepen trade, investment and knowledge exchange while creating lasting business partnerships.”

This cooperation builds on 120 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Norway, celebrated in 2025, and the signing of the Thailand-EFTA Free Trade Agreement in the same year. Expected to enter into force on 1 January 2027, the agreement is set to create further opportunities for trade, investment and long-term business partnerships between Thailand and Norway.
