Siemens launches Eigen Engineering Agent in Thailand, bringing purpose-built industrial AI to automation engineering
  • Siemens today introduces the Eigen Engineering Agent, its purpose-built Industrial AI for automation engineering, to Thailand for the first time
  • The Thailand launch includes the agent’s capabilities available globally today, from programmable logic controller (PLC) coding, human-machine interface (HMI) visualization and device configuration to ECAD integration and standards-compliant project generation

Siemens today launched the Eigen Engineering Agent in Thailand, bringing its purpose-built industrial AI for automation engineering to the Thai market for the first time. The Eigen Engineering Agent moves AI beyond on-screen suggestions to action in the physical world and is now available to automation engineers across Thailand with its complete set of capabilities. 

Industrial AI that acts, not just advises

Most AI assistants generate suggestions that engineers must still translate into their own projects. The Eigen Engineering Agent does the work itself: it plans, executes and validates automation engineering tasks end-to-end. It understands the project, writes the control software, configures the system and keeps refining its work until it meets defined quality benchmarks, freeing automation engineers to focus on system-level decisions.

The Eigen Engineering Agent works alongside TIA Portal, Siemens’ engineering software platform, and is part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio. Because it connects directly to TIA Portal, it has full awareness of a project’s data structures, blocks, parameters and component relationships, allowing it to deliver outputs tailored to what engineers are actually building, including on legacy or undocumented systems. 

From electrical design to a standards-compliant project, in one workflow

Thai customers adopting the Eigen Engineering Agent gain access to its complete range of capabilities from day one. Beyond core tasks such as PLC coding, HMI visualization and device configuration, this includes two capabilities that extend the agent further upstream in the engineering lifecycle: 

  • ECAD integration: the agent reads electrical design files in widely used formats including XML and AML, detects inconsistencies, resolves or flags them, adds devices to the TIA Portal project, configures the connections and generates PLC tags grounded in the actual hardware topology, closing the gap between electrical design and automation code.
  • Standards-compliant project generation: engineers describe a machine in plain language, its stations, devices and how it should behave and the agent generates a complete project that follows the Siemens Automation Framework, Siemens’ best-practice reference for structuring TIA Portal projects, ready to open and build on directly in TIA Portal.

Addressing Thailand’s automation engineering talent gap

As Thai manufacturers face tightening innovation cycles and a persistent shortage of skilled automation engineers, the Eigen Engineering Agent is designed to free engineers to focus on higher-level system challenges without compromising accuracy or reliability.

Productivity gains in the real world

Since its global launch, the Eigen Engineering Agent has been adopted by more than 100 companies in 19 countries, including ANDRITZ Metals (Austria), CASMT (China) and Prism Systems (United States). The agent accelerates everyday engineering work such as PLC programming, HMI visualization and device configuration, with measurable gains:

  • 2 to 5 times faster execution than manual workflows
  • Up to 50 percent efficiency gains in engineering
  • 80 percent improvement in overall solution quality

Onboarding has also improved: at one automotive line builder, new engineers who previously spent weeks learning a project’s structure could instead query it directly, cutting onboarding time from weeks to days.

The Eigen Engineering Agent, including the ECAD integration and standards-compliant project generation capabilities, is available now to customers in Thailand as part of the standard subscription.
